Beyond the code: About Me
Hello! If you’re reading this, then it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name, as the website notes, is David Eister. I began my career path in Pre-Med but eventually realized that patient-facing work wasn’t the right fit for me. Have you seen the sleep schedules during Residency? No, thank you. Instead, I became intensely curious about the science behind medicine and gradually focused my energy on the data side of healthcare.
My hobbies are enjoyable, if a bit ordinary to describe. I adore movies, especially watching them in theaters, the full sensory experience of sitting in a dark room and being transported into someone else’s vision is consistently breathtaking. That love of storytelling naturally extends to books, which occupy much of my time. Some of my favorites include The Children of Húrin, The Wheel of Time series, and The Sun Eater series. I find the depiction of people enduring the worst of circumstances while shouldering immense responsibility deeply inspiring.
The hobby most people associate with me is cooking. I love discovering new restaurants and then attempting to recreate and refine their dishes at home. At the moment I’m focused on perfecting a uni pasta a delicate balance of flavor and texture that I’m determined to get just right. But you can never go wrong with a great ribeye and asparagus.
